A wonderful example of this ever-popular token design. The Smoker Token is one of the most sought after designs in all of the Civil War era tokens. The obverse features the “jolly fat man” surrounded by the legends, No Pleasure Can Exceed The Smoking Of The Weed.
This example, struck in brass, has nice original surfaces with wonderful bright luster and very few areas of staining, something that normally plagues brass tokens.
This is an old friend, sold by us in early 2013, and like then, we expect this to find a home in the very near future.
