1787 Connecticut Miller 33.25-w.3 R-6 VF35 Raw

A very high grade and attractive example of this very scarce Connecticut die variety. This piece shows nice light brown color with only a few small areas of medium brown toning in some legends. The surfaces are smooth and glossy and the overall eye appeal is quite nice. Far finer than most examples of this rare die variety, and the nicest we have handled. A very rare opportunity.

This variety rarely comes up to auction in nice condition. The Perkins coin was described as being Technically XF, but with rough surfaces and some pitting on both sides. Called High Condition Census as well by cataloger Michael Hodder. That piece managed $1610 in 2000. We find this example to be more appealing and certainly choicer.
