We’ve handled a number of 8 escudos, but this is a really choice example with beautiful original luster and an excellent strike for the grade. The surfaces are immaculate with only light circulation evident on both sides.
We were very excited to acquire this high quality specimen, as this will have great appeal to the foreign type collector. Also note this is NOT a coin from the La Luz shipwreck, which is more commonly found.
A terrific coin, one that we predict won’t be for sale very long.
